Renault Mécanique Roumanie (RMR) manufactured on Thursday, July 1, 2010 the TL gearbox number 300,000 – which is to equip a Dacia Duster 4x4, produced by the Dacia Assembly Plant. At almost three years after the series manufacturing started at RMR, nine varieties of the TL4 range of gearboxes are produced for the Renault plants from Douai, Sandouville, Maubeuge (France), Oyak (Turkey) and for the Nissan plants from Sunderland (UK) and Oppama (Japan). Another important client for RMR is also the Dacia Assembly Plant, for which RMR manufactures two series varieties and one within the TL8 project. Since April 2010, RMR sends to the Dacia Assembly Plant the TL4 gearbox model for the Duster 4x2 and the TL8 one for the 4x4 version.

The TL gearbox manufactured at Dacia is to be found on various Renault models (Clio, Modus, Kangoo, Mégane, Scénic, Laguna), on Nissan models (Tiida, Sentra, Versa, Latio, Livia, Note, Qashqai), and on the Dacia Duster. This is a state-of-the art manual gearbox and it is the first common gearbox for the Renault-Nissan Alliance.

RMR has a production capacity of 5000 gearboxes per week and, it is integrated in the Powertrain and Chassis Plant. The respective plant was built according to Renault standards and complying with the norms of ISO 9001 - with respect to quality management -, and with the norms of ISO 14001- which addresses environmental management issues. The Powertrain and Chassis Plant manufactured last year 446 252 gearboxes (JH – a 5 speed gearbox and TL4 – a 6 speed one).
