French Film Festival in Romania

Dacia, partner of the French Film Festival since 2008, supports this year's edition as well, an edition which brings back to the attention of film fans a "forgotten" genre - the burlesque film. Max Linder, Bruno Dumont, Jacques Tati, Jacques Rozier, but particularly Pierre Étaix, to whom a Retrospective is dedicated, are famous names who can be seen between 31 October - 9 November 2014.

For this 18th edition a partnership was concluded with the famous French film magazine Cahiers du cinéma, to show for one week a selection of the greatest burlesque film masterpieces, older films as well as contemporary creations.

The Competition section includes 8 unique films which promote the talent and creativity of young French film directors. The festival's public will have the honour to decide who will win the Public's Prize. The winning film will benefit from a subsidy for distribution in cinemas in Romania, so that it will be shown in all cinemas in the country.

The Panorama section shows the best known contemporary French films, appreciated both by critics and by the public, which were awarded prizes at festivals worldwide.
