The Duster 4x4 Everyone team members participated, together with the O.R.A.R Club (Off-Road Adventure România), in a charity activity organised before Easter in an isolated community of the Danube Delta, on Chilia Branch. Over 9 tonnes of products were taken to that disfavoured area by 32 off-road vehicles and 60 persons.
More than 300 bags with food were donated to community members, mostly single elderly persons or families facing financial difficulties. Other presents were also offered to children in the area in addition to food: stationary, sweets, fruit, clothes, toys.
”We managed to bring joy on the faces of people in the Danube Delta now, before the Easter holidays, and words are too weak to describe this joy. As beautiful as this area is, its inhabitants are just as unfavoured. We learned about their sad story and decided to go with the off-road club to that region. Our common passion to reach isolated areas in the country and our desire to bring a smile on people’s faces took us this year to Ceatalchioi commune, where we had our headquarters for two days”, said Cătălin Opriţescu, one of the participants.
The persons who were offered support live in areas with difficult access. For various shopping needs they have to travel at least one hour by boat or, in the best case, when it does not rain and the few existing roads are practicable, they take the ferry to the nearest city, Tulcea.
”We met on our ways children who were very happy with every toy received, children for whom the way to school is long and difficult, through rain, wind and mud, children who study in the same classroom, although of different ages. We found classrooms with children from the first to the fourth grade.
All these things, their joy in the humble houses, made us forget about the tiredness, the difficult road, the rain or mud. After all, there is nothing more beautiful than the happiness of people around you. The way back seemed easier, with our hearts full of joy for having done something good for some people forgotten by the rest of the world”, said the team members.
Duster 4x4 Everyone
Several teams within Renault Group participated in the National Off-road Championship 2012 and 2013 with Dacia Duster vehicles. Both the pilots and the copilots and technical assistants are employees of Renault Romania, passionate with engineering and off-road, who came together in a specialised association in 2010, called Duster 4x4 Everyone. The missions of Duster 4x4 Everyone association are to promote the 4x4 capacities of Dacia Duster, to overcome challenges or personal limits through team spirit, to respect and protect nature during any car trips into the natural environment on off-road routes.
