Dacia's General Director François Fourmont, proclaimed Citizen of Honour of Pitesti

Dacia’s General Director François Fourmont was today proclaimed citizen of honour of Pitesti, during a festivity held by the Town Council. The mayor of Pitesti handed the honorific diploma to François Fourmont for his contribution to the Romanian car industry and to the city’s acknowledgement nation and worldwide.

Today, Dacia is an established phenomenon and one of the people representing it is François Fourmont”, said Mayor Tudor Pendiuc. “During the current crisis, there are still people who care about their community, and François Fourmont is one of these people. While other companies shut their doors and lay off employees, Dacia is running at an impressive pace”, emphasized the mayor. He also expressed his appreciation for the highly efficient management that led the plants to continue making new and affordable cars. François Fourmont is the third foreign citizen to receive such a distinction.

Honoured by the recognition, Dacia’s General Director confessed feeling a “Romanian by adoption”, after six years spent in our country. He congratulated the local authorities on their contribution to the evolution of Pitesti and thanked them for their permanent support.

Renault engaged in the development of Mioveni’s industrial site and of Arges by means of investments approaching 1.5 billion euros. Dacia wishes to become a significant player in the life of its community; as a result, the carmaker donated cars, ambulances, computers and furniture to different schools in the Arges County. On the occasion, François Fourmont reasserted Dacia’s support for the local authorities by donating a Dacia Logan MCV to the Romanian Municipalities Association, presided by Tudor Pendiuc.
